Camp has been an extension of our congregation for decades, and it has been an important step in the faith journeys of so many from our church! Over the last few years our camper numbers have increased, and this year 12 youth from our congregation have already signed up. There are still some weeks open for new camper registrations at Camp Hiawatha and Camp Vermilion this summer. All youth from our church receive camp scholarships to help cover the cost. Camp brochures are available in the narthex, and interested campers and their families can go online (www.VLMcamps.org) or contact the church office for more information.
But camp isn’t just for kids!…
Both Camp Hiawatha and Camp Vermilion have made significant improvements to their facilities over the last few years to make camp more accessible and welcoming for people of all ages! Many rooms have their own private bathroom, and the new Voyageur Lodge at Camp Vermilion is fully handicapped accessible. Whether you are interested in Family Camp, volunteering, enjoying a programmed retreat like the Paddle Building Workshop, or reserving space for your own event like a quilting weekend or a family reunion, check out all that camp has to offer! Visit VLMcamps.org for more information.
If you would like to help send a kid to camp, donations may be made to YFM at OSLC or to the Campership Fund at VLM (2555 Vermilion Camp Rd Cook, MN 55723)
