Quilting for a Purpose

QUILTER’S CORNER

Join us for quilting Wednesdays, anytime between 8am—2pm!

No experience in quilting, crafting or sewing is needed. We could use help tying off quilts at the end, and packing them as well.

Being a part of quilting for Lutheran World Relief  is a great way to fellowship with other ladies in the church, enjoy coffeetime and lunch together, and be a part of sending quilts to people who’s lives have been touched by poverty, war, or natural disasters – internationally as well as in America. We create approx. 300-350  quilts annually at Our Savior’s Lutheran, and you are invited to be a part of this important ministry. Join us~

Quilting

We will resume quilting in the Fellowship Hall this Fall!

The OSLC Quilting Group meets every Wednesday from 8:00am to about 2:00 pm during the year, and we take a break for the summer (Mid-May – early September).

Come when you can, leave when you must… no sewing experience necessary! Always coffee on and a pot luck lunch. We sew quilts for Lutheran World Relief, local shelters, The Youth Corridor housing, for families who have lost their houses to fire, baby quilts for the County nurses to distribute as needed, to families who are lucky enough to have new Habitat housing. To name a few. None of the ladies wanted their faces in the pictures so I took pictures with the tools of their trade. It is a very important ministry with the OSLC women, we distribute as many as 300 plus quilts from September to May. We take a brief break in December and then meet occasionally in the Summer to sort and organize for the next quilting year.
