The “Used-a-bit” Stuff Sale last weekend was another great success, raising just over $4,000! All the proceeds from the sale will benefit the window fund for the church.
The community has been dropping items off for the sale for months, and dedicated volunteers spent hours sorting and pricing each item. The sale was wonderfully organized and has become a favorite stop among treasure (and bargain!) hunters in the community. We thank the many people who gave their time and energy to make the sale possible. Thank you!
It was a busy weekend at Our Savior’s as dozens of people stopped by for the annual “Used-a-bit Clothing Sale”, a popular tradition since the sale first started in 1985. The clothing donations came from members of the congregation and from 2 local consignment stores. Volunteers spent hundreds of hours sorting and organizing the clothing over the last several months, each item priced at 25 cents. More than $1,800 was raised in the sale, a portion of which will go to support the local Food Shelf.
We thank all the volunteers for giving their time and for helping make the event another great success, and we invite you to join us at the “Stuff Sale” August 22-23!
Virginia and surrounding communities look forward the Our Savior’s sales. They’re usually held twice a year, if donations allow. Proceeds from both sales are returned to the community for projects and programs that help local people in need.
Everything’s 25 cents! Donations welcome, call the church office before dropping off.
