We have various ministries for the children and youth at OSLC.
Confirmation is our main ministry for children 6th grade through 10th. During the year, there are weekly get-togethers on Wednesday that include classes, a meal and fellowship with one another. Confirmation students meet as a whole at the beginning, then break out for age related classwork, and meet once again for worship & prayer.
Sunday School for grade school children: We met this year during worship in order to shorten the time we were in contact with each other and lessen the chance of covid exposure. For 2023 we will most likely return to a class format that meets after worship. Parents are welcome to accompany their children to class, or join with other adults in the Social Hall for “Coffee & Fellowship” with one another. Our curriculum is from “Sparks” published by Augsburg Fortress, a trusted name in Sunday School curriculum since 1960, and offers fun and engaging lessons that support your child’s faith formation.
Faith Finders is an afterschool/early release program that had traditionally met Wednesday afternoons. During covid we made the hard decision to put the ministry on hold. We will keep parents informed of the ministry’s return and dates/times if we offer it during the schoolyear in 2023.
